to Marsh Brothers Silver & Saddle Shop,
Marsh Brothers was established by Ernie
and Teresa Marsh in 1990, as Marsh Bit & Spur;
after six years and two sons, the name was
changed to Marsh Brothers Oregon Silver.
We are now established in Etna, Wyoming at our Marsh Brothers Silver & Saddle Shop, on Hwy 89.
Our long time partner, Dennis Hensley, runs the custom saddle shop part of the business.
While Ernie focuses on what he has always done, bridle bits, spurs, and silverwork.
Ernie Marsh operates his one man shop, producing his handmade bits, spurs and silver items
and since 1998, producing the traditional style stainless bridle bits
first produced and made famous by noted bit maker, Al Tietjen of Reno, Nevada.1970-1985
These have now become a Marsh Brothers standard
product with a variety of cheek and mouthpiece
combinations to suit your needs.
While in the Gallery you will be able to view past pieces of work
that Ernie Marsh has created, some of which have appeared in
national publications as well as western artisan shows such as the annual
Traditional Cowboy Artists Association show in Oklahoma City.
Here the discerning horse person can find the finest quality bits,
spurs and silver work by Ernie Marsh, an internationally respected artist.
The unique engraving style, artistry and quality of craftsmanship combined
the traditions of the past has led to his reputation as one of today's
finest contemporary makers. Ernie is not doing commission work on bits
and spurs, but the Merchandise page shows those items, which are currently available.
The Westfall schoolhouse, built in 1892, one of the last remaining
buildings in this ghost town, is where Ernie Marsh and Dennis Hensley maintained
their shop but now they make their shop
in downtown Etna, Wyoming.
The Saddle Shop link will show the saddles that Dennis Hensley,
maker, has done in the past plus his price list
